Our History

Notre Dame de Bon Secours RCA School was founded in 1854 by Mother Marie Augustine, born Caroline Lenferna de Laresles in Pointe aux Piments on 25 March 1824. A visionary educator and spiritual leader, she established the Congregation of the Sisters of Bon et Perpétuel Secours in 1850, and just four years later, founded our beloved school in the heart of Port Louis.

Since its creation, Notre Dame de Bon Secours has remained committed to serving the Mauritian child with compassion, excellence, and a deep sense of mission. Now celebrating 170 years of existence (1854–2025), the school stands as a beacon of education, faith, and community service. Guided by the Catholic values of inclusion and care for the most vulnerable, we continue to empower generations of learners with knowledge, life skills, and moral grounding.
